I have a class of 33 students that are hoping to begin a pen pal exchange. We would prefer outside the US, but due to lack of response, we are happy to begin this project with any group between ages 9 and 12.

If you want to correspond with an overseas class, you need to be more assertive. There are international American schools all over the world. Do a google search, find some websites, choose a school, and write to them to see if anyone is interested.

If you don't feel like doing a school by school search via the internet, visit the International Schools Services website. They sell a director of international schools that includes e-mail contact addresses.

There are also websites dedicated towards penpal letter exchanges. Do a google search for "pen pal letter exchange sites" and see what comes up.
