My husband just showed up at school and informed me that we need to go home. The end of our gravel road is under 12" of water and the blacktop is underwater east and west of the gravel road. I drove the van this morning, so he came to pick us up in the 4*4 truck. I got the kids and we headed home. It is still raining and looks like it will rain for the rest of the day. There are a few teachers out already because of the water and there weren't any subs so my afternoon kids will get shuffled around. Sure am glad I go those emergency lesson plans done and filed for each class. I am really surprised they haven't sent the kids home already.

How long does it take to build an ark?

If I was to get a surprise day off, why couldn't it be on a Friday? Well, it's not too late and if it rains like this all night, no one will be going to school.

Hope it has stopped raining. We are supposed to get 1-2 inches tonight. Nothing like you though! Good luck!!!

I hope it lets up so you don't have serious flooding of more than roads!

It is always nice to have a day off though! I agree that Fridays off are best!

I'm not so sure about global WARMING - it is supposed to snow this weekend! It has been an unusually cool summer and fall.
