Last night we had a bad hail storm.:gloomy: The hail was from Quarter to Golf Ball sized hail. I live on a golf course so our house gets hit with golf balls on occasion. But last night it was like thousands of golf-balls each minute were hitting our house.

Jennifer wants me to take care of the 'inspection' of the roof today (either call the insurance company, or go up and look for obvious damage myself).

This morning, after I drop her off at work, I pull out the extension ladder, and climb up to the roof. I'm 'inspecting', and along comes a gust of wind that blows my ladder down.:loser:
"CRAP!" (only the other word... yep - that one).

GOOD NEWS! A lady is walking by on the street, and saw the whole thing. She can just pick the ladder up... but wait... she looks... she sees me standing there on the roof... and just keeps walking...

I am perplexed and speechless.:confused2: So I thought I might have to yell to her that I need some help (maybe it wasn't as obvious as I thought?:idontknow:), but just as I'm about to yell to her, she turns back - as she is now past my house, and she yells up "Sorry, I don't think I can lift the ladder". And continues to walk on... HUH? no "I'll tell someone", no "I'll call my husband", no "I'll knock on someones door"... just walks away. :waving: Thank you neighbor! :waving:

So I sit down on my roof and wait for someone else to walk by and help me. (A guy walked by about 5 minutes later and helped).

Oh, well. Just had to vent.

Oh my gosh, I cannot believe that. What happened to common courtesy? Helping your fellow man? Unbelievable.

Well, I couldn't help giggling at first... (Sorry.) But then it wasn't so funny. That lady SHOULD have done something to help you! She had so many options of ways to do it. If she was REALLY paranoid about knocking on a door and didn't have anyone to call, there is still the non-emergency police number. Sheesh.

The funny thing is that the lady was a mother taking her child to the bus stop. The bus is for the same neighborhood school that my wife helped open, and currently teaches at. I'm sure anyone taking their kid to school would know who my wife is, .. and well, you know... help?

Oh well. I need to think through things a little better from now on when I pull out the ladder.
