Told by principal you dont have a Job Teaching?

Hello All, I am asking for advice. My wife is a teacher, who is certified for High School Only , At that Science Only. She has been teaching at a public school system for the last 2 years. No write ups on file. Yesterday June 25th. The Principal called to tell her that she did not have a position teaching at the high school because there were not enough students enrolled. Well She doesnt quite believe that as they already saw the roster. The classes had 30 kids in the class. She called the Head of the Science Department and she said that there were enough kids for her to teach there. They both believe that unless half of the student population dropped out, that this might be untrue. This is a district with only one high school. And she already got her contract renewed about 4 months ago.
