Does anyone have any advice on how to co-teach effectively? This is my first year co-teaching a non-regents course in HS math. I am a Math teacher and my co-teacher is Special Ed.
So far this year we have split the material. I teach a unit, she teaches a unit, and so on. We have very big differences in educational ideals and it is only my name that goes on report cards. Her classroom management is lacking - she doesn't want to be the "bad guy."
I have been toying with the idea of having her pull different kids out each day and work with them in small groups. I don't know how to do this (and of course, have been offered very little training!).
Any advice would be welcome!
