Help! We are having a door decorating contest. I want my door to not only represent the spirit of the season but also language arts content. Any ideas? I'm stuck!

How about a Christmas tree or some other picture with adjectives describing it?

all the kids' letter's to santa at Santa's feet? if a higher grade, you could ask them to justify why they deserve their presents...

If you have a holiday scene, such as a Christmas tree, you could have the students label the objects in the scene with haiku labels.

Let me open it!

Or is this too elementary?

For elementary, I would have my kids write similes for alliterative phrases about the holiday. I would usually have them write similes about snow, that way, the display could last into January!!

I meant to type, similes OR alliterative phrases...

You could have a pear/pair/pare tree with the leaves being the pairs of homophones.
