In my classroom, I have response clickers, document camera, smart notebook with plasma screen, smartboard, etc.

I used all of this equipment almost daily in my science classroom but I am now moving to LA. How do other LA teachers use this type of technology in their classrooms?

I wasn't lucky enough to have all the equipment you have! However, I used some response clickers with my vocabulary words and with story reviews. I also allowed students to make short videos of stories they had written and showed those in class. I used the overhead projector to edit student writing (which meant I had to make a transparency of the student's paper which wasn't always a good copy!). Since our students have laptops, I put a lot of assignments on the network for them to complete online. Most of these required some research also.

The students used their laptops almost every day in class.

Integrating ICT for the sake of it is very painful and I am not a fan of technological add ons just because it is considered pc. I use my interactive whiteboard daily for every lesson since the resources for this piece of equipment are immense, and allow whole class participation in the interactivity. I also use 2 simple software daily ...digital cameras, videos and microscopes when appropriate. My pupils are digitally savvy and I try to match what they can do outside school with what I provide inside...at an appropriate level.

I am jealous I have almost no technology. I do like using web-quests for research. Smart board can be used for so many things, lists, graphic organizers, story maps. Silvana, how else do you use your smart board?

Most of my technology is my own... I have to bring it in with me or I have nothing...

Sounds like you've got almost the same setup as I do. Do you have the audio enhancement system, too? My voice loves it!

I use Encyclomedia and BrainPop quite a bit. There are lots of good Barry Lane videos on Encyclomedia, and I use the BrainPop for mini-lessons in grammar when we write. I use some of the released items from the KDE site and modify them to be "clicker-friendly". Once I get back to school I could email you some of them if you're interested.

Since we type all the writing pieces, I can easily put them up on the board and let the kids do the editing.

I use mine all the time, but I can't for the life of me think of everything when I try.

Hello, I'm in the same situation. I have many of the same devices and am now assigned to teach language arts and history. I would like to know if you have found any advice that you could pass along to me?
