My commute varies since I'm a substitute. I'm looking a job within 30 mins/each way.

About 15 or 20 minutes I'd say.

8 minutes is a pretty good run!

40 miles round trip, cut down from 90 miles round trip!

I drive 22 miles one way. I work 5 days each week. If gas is $4.00 per gallon and I get 27 mpg, how much does it cost me to work each week? LOL

It takes me a little under 10 minutes to get to school. I am thinking of taking a job that was 45-55 minutes one way...yes, the drive is the only reason I am still just "thinking" about it and not taking it. The salary increase will more than pay for the gas...but the drive is so long.

Well, it depends upon whether or not you drive a motorcycle or a car!! My hubby and I got bikes, to cut down on the use of gas....Plus, it's just plain fun!!!

I live about 20 miles away from school. It usually takes me just under 30 minutes to get to school, since most of my drive is on the expressway.

Since gas is now about $4.20 in my area, and I only get about 18 mpg, it costs about $50 to get to/from work. I think it's time to rethink my ride!

How long is my commute?

Five minutes if I hit green traffic lights ... otherwise maybe seven.

20 minutes one way. I could get to a school that's only 5 minutes away, but I love where I am and wouldn't change it for anything.

I think that is part of the key. If you like where you are, the commute seems worth it.

I'm 4 miles from work. I go through 2 stop lights, both of which are usually green. It is 4.1 miles to get home . . . curvy roads . . . so I've got an extra tenth of a mile of curve on the way home. LOL

I spent the first 5 years of my career driving a whopping 2 miles a day, and then they built a new school and I doubled my commute to 4 miles a day. Then I got married, moved to a new house, and doubled it again to 8 miles a day.

26 miles one way to work. It takes anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes depending on what slow vehicle I get stuck behind on the road.

I also just found out that the road I take to get to school (20 out of the 26 miles) is being closed for construction on 6/9. Granted, the kids will be gone, but I will still have to go for a week! I am currently mapping out alternate routes, and am very agitated at the extra time it is going to take me to get to work, not to mention the gas!

10 minutes if I drive; about 20 if I ride my bike. Most of the year, I ride my bike.

I wish I could walk, but I'm a bit afraid to. I have this thing about big, loose, guard dogs... I should try to get over that, because I'm sure I'm exagerating it.

I would love to be able to walk or ride a bike to work. I like doing both. I don't, however, feel the need to take my life in my hands by trying it on curvy, country roads with NO shoulder or sidewalk.

Ooh, that does sound scary. I'm lucky that my area at least has sidewalks most of the time.

I drive 25 miles each way, most of which is a rural highway through the woods. Biking isn't an option for most of the school year, but maybe I should get a snowmobile for the winter. It would definitely cut down down on the amount I spend for gas!:D
