Somehow, a family of birds has gotten into the building and are roaming in the false ceilings. They get up on the skylights and the kids can see their little feet pressed against the frosted glass. My great fear is they are going to die up there and we are going to have to smell them during summer school. When it is really quiet, you can hear them running along the ceiling tiles.

I am having visions of an old Hitchcock movie.:)

Too funny! We found two bird in the Performing Arts Center the DAY before our spring play opened up! They got out, I don't know how exactly...so luckily no audience members were pooped on during the show!

One of the first schools I taught at was really old. Birds would get in the vent system. It was not unusual to have feathers come floating down onto your desk. One spring day some birds in the vent kept making loud, disturbing sounds. In that class was a very quiet shy seventh grade boy. After listening to the birds for about 30 minutes, he very loudly stated, "I think those birds are breeding in the vent!"

Our playground is near a canal and it is not uncommon for gulls to swoop into our playground and grab the childrens food...the children love it.

We have two beagle pups that showed up at our school. We've got a bunch of dog lovers at our school, so we've collected donations for food, shelter, and medication. Now they're waiting for adoption!

Whenever I park my car by the trailer and walk into the building to check my box and sign in, there is always this one black crow looking thing at the top of the highest tree making whatever sound he makes. I look around, but he never seems to have any friends that I can see. However, I respect him because of Hitchcock's The Birds. Tippy Heddren should have never walked behind that door! Never!

Then one day, that same bird was on the edge of my trailer, and I ran as fast as I could because thanks to The Birds, I am also afraid of them. I have been attacked by birds before too--just walking along and minding my own business.

Momma says it is because I must have been near one of their nests, adn they were just trying to protect it.

Whatever! The Birds have won! They are number two after sharks--again, thanks to another wonderful movie called Jaws.
