I have to write a yearbook dedication to my students and I would like some suggestions because I don't even know where to start. Thanks.

I would suggest something honoring some achievement that they have made.

How many students do you have? What age group is this? I always write a poem that includes each student - I write 4 different poems for my four homerooms. Each line says something about that particular student - an achievement, a characteristic, a memorible event. This isn't for the yearbook though.

12 students... 8th grade students, ages 13 to 15.

What do the other teachers do? Is this light-hearted and funny or deep and emotional? Since you only have 12 students, I would at least make it personal. Maybe a year in review...then go serious or funny - whatever you feel appropriate.
My seinor year of high school, my AP English teacher wrote all of us a very emotional meaningful letter - we were very close to him - and gave us all a copy of "Dead Poet's Society". I still have the letter and the movie. It is a little deep for 8th graders but I wish I could find something like that. However, I have over 100 students.
