My name is Mary and I am an Elementary School major at
University of Michigan-Flint. I have been working on a
paper about children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder in
the general education classroom with a focus on social
skills of students with ASD. I am hoping to receive some
feedback from special education teachers and general
education teachers who have worked with children with ASD.
If you have time can you answer some of these questions,
it does not have to be all of them. When you answer the
questions can you please tell me if you are a special
education teacher or a general education teacher and the
city you are writing from so I can give proper credit in
my paper? Thank you so much for everyone's input.

1. What ways have you tried to have the student with
ASD become more involved in the classroom? Have these
ideas worked? What have been the best ways that have
worked in your classroom?
2. Have you ever used cooperative learning groups? If
you have how did it work out? Did the other students have
any problems in these groups? Would you use cooperative
learning groups again? Why or why not?
3. I read a study about students using a passkey to
ask other children if they can join their play groups.
Have you ever used a non-verbal key with any of your
students? If you have how I did it work and would you do
it again?
4. Have you ever used modeling to promote play with
students with ASD? What kind of modeling did you use,
video or in vivo? What did you prefer? Would you use it
again, why or why not?

Once again, thank you for your input, it is greatly
appreciated.
