I have 8th grade science.

8th graders are interesting critters....hormones with legs.

This past week, we were studying the hydrosphere (wherever there is water on earth) and one of my more squirrely girls was reading aloud. She came to the word organism...only orgnism is NOT the word she called out.....

Use your imagination. These ARE 8th graders...

Anyhow, there was a moment of stunned silence, then a few giggles and then, finally, a torrent of guffaws.

I tried vainly to maintain the stiff, upper lip, but it was useless...

All of us wound up rolling on the floor in laughter. I nearly choked to death. I have the remnant of a cold and my nose nearly ran off my face, only adding to the hysteria....

Ah, life in the middle school....:o

Spectre,

So glad to see that there are some bright spots in your day. This one was a duzzy! There was no way to keep a stiff upper lip. I wasn't there; but, I do have a very vivid imagination. I'm still laughing.

Laughter is good for the soul. Keep on laughing and enjoy those moments.

Thanks, Busbus....

Actually, there are more bright spots in my days than I might indicate. It's my situation that stresses me, not so much the majority of the kids. We do wacky things all the time. It's how I keep myself focused and sane.

Quite funny.

That is such a hard word to pronounce when reading. Another hard word is "Grand Prix".
