I'm new to The Teacher's Forum. I signed in because I am looking for ideas/tips on finding/making time for test prep. Does anyone have tips to share on covering content, fitting in time during the busy school day and/or preparing students for the challenges/nuances of standardized tests? If your ideas are helpful, I might use them in a paper I'm writing.

We have about 30 minutes at the beginning of the dat that is our test prep time. I find an activity out of a book that targets the skills tested on their state assessments and we do it first thing in the morning. We also have a tutoring program that works with the students after school as well.

We also spend 30 minutes a day covering test material.

I have scheduled time in my 90 day plan to review test materials and cover and reteach content before the state test. I am giving my ninth graders seven school days of this. I will use this time to review concepts, and practice test taking strategies together.

I didn't schedule this much time last year, so we will see how this turns out in January!
