I am getting ready to take the Praxis ll test for Middle School Social Studies in August. I have purchased the ETS study guide and the sample questions are great, however the topics that it suggests for you to study are too broad, not giving you complete study notes to go by. I am trying to get in a program in Virginia called Virginia Career Switch Program which would allow someone like me, who has a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, to go into the teaching field. I have to pass this test to get into the program. I have seen other study guides, flashcards, and study notes that I can purchase online to help me with the test and would like to know if anyone has used any of these items to help them or has any other ideas to help me with this test. I have been out of school for nine years and really need preparation help.

I took #081 Social Studies Content Knowledge, but this should help you as well- Dummies Books. I bought Economics for Dummies, World History for Dummies, and Geography for Dummies. I also found a U. S. history pre ap study guide. Social Studies is so broad it is hard to what to study, but I found enough information in each of these books to get an understanding, but not overload. Hope this helps and good luck.
