I know that Limited Too gives kids a reward for good report cards. Do you know of any other national stores that reward kids for good grades?

We have a regional steakhouse that gives A honor roll students a free kids meal. A/B honor roll students also get free meals at another chain (I think Sonic). The PTA coordinates this at our school.

Pizza Hut does the book it program, Chik-Fil-A does lots of free kids meals for a variety of things including a program they offer on values (many local guidance counselors use this program).

Since many of the national chains are franchises, it depends on the franchise owner's interest in participation. If you know some locally owned businesses, they might be willing to work with you. You might be amazed at what smaller chains may be willing to do.

Try local restaurants. They're usually very generous.

I didn't know that businesses still did this. Book-It has been around forever, but I didn't know of the others. Maybe the preschoolers should get report cards just for the fun stuff? Just kidding.

Do they still give rewards for students who don't receive A/B/C/D/F grades but instead receive one, two, three or other rankings. Many of our younger students do not receive grades but instead have some other kind of rating scale.

I found this web page at families.com:

http://dealsblog.families.com/blog/good-grade-rewards

I don't know how accurate it is.

For example, Wendy's is listed as having a rewards program for good report cards but if you visit Wendy's corporate website, no mention is made of any reward program for report cards. On the other hand, if you google search for a Wendy's report card reward program, you may find Wendy's in Fort Wayne, Indiana. "Wendy's Good Food for Good Grades: When report card time rolls around, be sure to bring the kids to Wendy's. Kids, show your report card to our register operator and reap the delicious rewards of a job well done! Turn those A's and B's into mmmms!"

The web page includes a good tip that can probably be applied to many chain restaurants: "Incentives and Awards
We can provide your school or group with coupons to help your group reward your members for outstanding achievements."

My best suggestion is to simply get out the phone book and call around. Call local restaurants and ask if they have a rewards program for good report cards. If nothing else, you may be able to get some discount coupons.

With so many restaurants being owner operated or franchised, you can't guarantee that just because one gives a reward, they all do. I agree with Dave, just call around or go into places and speak with the manager. A lot of times they will do more for you if you just come in.

Applebee's and Jack In The Box are 2 places that give incentives for good grades, if you have either one of these in your area.

I am pretty sure for older students that have part time jobs, some companies offer higher wages. McDonalds offers a $.25 per hour raise if the employees GPA is over 3.5.

Also - try writing to the corporate offices of various casual dining chains. In this economy, fast food restaurants are out performing casual dining places because dollars stretch further with hamburgers and fries.

If you write to a corporate chain, introduce yourself, tell why you're asking for coupons, and see what happens. You could also try visiting local restaurants but a lot of what happens will depend upon who owns the franchise. For example, Bob Evans restaurants are family owned, so you'd be better off writing to the corporate office in Columbus.
