We saw Night at the Museum, but it has been out for a while now. It wasn't the best movie I've seen recently, but it was pretty cute and the kids liked it. It showed the main character interacting with historical figures and scouring books to learn things to make his job easier and defeat the bad guys.

With the new Harry Potter movie and the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie coming out this summer, I'm looking forward to a few trips to the theater with DH.

No, but I saw a BAD movie.

Don't see Ghost Rider. It's horrible.

And I usually like that type of film, and am pretty tolerant of "bad" movies in general. It was truly awful.

My dh wants to see Ghost Rider....maybe I'll skip that one!
He also wants to see "300" but I don't know much about it.

I really want to see 300 - it's right up my alley. I've heard it's VERY violent though, so if that's not your thing, you might want to skip it.

300 is finally at the theatres, but I've got Strep Throat (thanks to my students) & can't go.

If you are in to the "Hannibal" movies then "Hannibal Rising" is pretty intent. Gross but it explains the character and you actually feel sorry for him.

I'm afraid I don't get out much. Would love to see "Night at the Museum".

Just saw Shrek the Third and loved it! I loved the inclusion of the Arthurian legends in the world of Shrek...lots of fun!

Also saw a movie called The Gardener of Eden at the Tribeca Film Festival that I was VERY impressed with. It's definately a dark comedy but it was very well done. Not sure what it's status is for a wide release, but I'm crossing my fingers.

I saw "Bug" on the weekend. VERY strange movie. Brilliantly acted, but it's incredibly odd.

I saw Spiderman 3 a couple weeks ago, and was REALLY disappointed. I loved the first one and like the second. Really didn't enjoy the third. :(

I recently watched the 3rd Pirates movie. I enjoyed uptil the ending. It left me disappointed. However, I must say that if anyone has not seen "The Prestige" with Hugh Jackman it is a must. Great twists and turns!

I just saw Ghost Riders and loved it! 300 is based on "true events" so yes it will be violent but, if you are a history buff then this movie is for you. Glory Road is a very good movie based on a true events.

I saw Transformers on the weekend. Other than the opening 20 minutes (BRILLIANT!) it was horrible. The final half hour wasn't bad, but after suffering through the hour and a half in the middle, I just didn't care.

I saw Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix last night at a midnight release. I was SO disappointed. I love the books and the previous movies, but they really butchered this one.

I've had a bad movie run as of late. :P

Night at the Museum is good..the kids love it!
One of my favorites though is O Brother Where Art Thou. It's an older movie and is based on Homer's "The Odyssey". My kids are much to young to do this, but I was thinking that it might make an interesting comparing paper for high school. Read the odyssey, watch the movie, then write a paper comparing the two. We did that a few times in my senior english class when I was in high school. Very interesting stuff.

Movie? Are you kidding, between lesson plans, grading and my 1 year old, I don't have time to go to the movies. I depend on Netflix for my entertainment. The last movie I saw was Happy Feet.

Son, hubby, and I just saw National Treasure 2 and we enjoyed it a lot. It is over two hours and moved fast for our tastes. WE went for the 4:15 showing, but it was sold out, so we bought our tickets for the 7:00 time and came back.

There are other movies I hope to see over the break.

I haven't been to the movies or rented a movie in a month of Sundays. I'll check out some of the ones that were written in the posts.

Just took the kids (8,10) to see National Treasure - Book of Secrets. They both really enjoyed it. No bad language, etc means mom and dad enjoyed it too. Was a little over 2 hours with the Goofy cartoon at the beginning, but a good movie to watch.

Just recently went to see Charlie Wilson's War. It was quite inspiring. However, I have been ready to throw my tv out the window due to nothing to watch. It seems to be overloaded with fake reality tv, so I have switched over to the classic movie channel. Today they aired The Portrait of Dorian Gray. Great movie, classic twists, a little slow moving, but you really had to pay attention.

Has anyone seen the recent airing of American Film Industries top 100 movies? It was the tenth anniversary edition, so a few newer movies were added. It is always good to see what movies make the list. It is also a nice reminder of the many movies that I have yet to see.

If you have little ones that love animals like mine do, go rent "Grand Champion". They loved it. A young boy raises a calf for the fair. He ends up winning the "Big Texas" show and sells the calf at auction for something like $750,000. Then he finds out the calf is going to be cooked at a BBQ, so he runs away with Hokey Pokey. Several big names have cameos in the movie - Bruce Willis, Julia Roberts, Larry Mahan, Tuff Hedeman, Natalie Maines, etc. Very cute and engaging for the kids.

That Goofy cartoon was enjoyable!

We also went to see PS I Love You. The online review I read was pretty putrid, and the profits have been pretty dismal, but we enjoyed it! Even though I forgot my kleenex, I made sure to get plenty of napkins to go with the popcorn so I wouldn't be left high and dry.

Anyone I know who has seen PS ILY has really liked it. It was a different kind of role for Harry Connick Jr. It was a good movie outlining the time of grief in dealing with death.

Has anyone seen the previews to The Bucket List? That sure looks good! I like both Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson. They look good together.
