Hello! My second grade class in Massachusetts is doing a postcard project, Around the World in Postcards. I started this project after realizing the majority of my students have never even seen a postcard. They come from a very underpriviledged area and do not get the opportunity to travel or see other areas of the world. This project started, and is quickly getting very big. We are using the postcards during Reading, Math, and Social Studies! This is where I could really use your help. If you could take a few minutes out of your day to send us a postcard, it would be a huge help. We have involved our whole school and give tours of our classroom, showing all the places with pins on the map. We are even going to be on the local news soon! Thank you so much!

I'll try to send one to your class. Be sure to put up a big map and surround it with the postcards. Run a string between each postcart to the corresponding map point.

I am a dislocated Rhode Islander. Your post card map is a great idea! I hope you don't mind if I use it in the future. I will have my class send you a post card. I will also put out the word to family and friends that live elsewhere and do not check this site.
My students mirror your students. They feel that traveling from Newport News (VA) to Virginia Beach (VA) is going to another state.
