Functional Assessment

Do you use any type of “life skills” or “functional” assessments? I teach preschool spec ed and I use the Brigance Diagnostic Inventory of Early Development II. It has sections which assess functional and self-help skills, as well as other skill areas.:)

I used to use that when I taught elem spec ed. I also felt that many observations and age appropriate activities that kids would be doing is how I usually did my assessments.
