Do any of you have to provide a rationale for the literature that you use in your classroom... be it novel studies, literature circles, or read alouds?
It has been suggested in our district that teachers start preparing rationales for the literature that we are using. We have had a couple of parents "question" the use of certain novels in the classroom. I am looking for "what" you have included... does anyone have a template or a program? I would love to help give some suggestions to our Lang Arts council so that the "end product" is something that is teacher-friendly as well as useful should a challenge come about.
