our administration, state department, and too many college professors of Ed. have no clue what it means to be in a class room in 2006.

I would like to find other Arkansas teachers willing to work to change this, byt way of the ballot box. I want to place on the ballot a law that would make these people return to the class room, NOT for AP classes, to teach for at least one semester every 4 years.

We can do this if we work together. It will change education.

Will anyone help me??

I am an Arkansas teacher and am totally with you. Once these people leave the classroom they have no clue.....

Don't think you have a monopoly on inept educational leadership in Arkansas. In Washington it seems that the most innefectual teachers find work in education outside of the classroom and then direct the educational policies of the state. They seem to multiply uncontrollably and devour a large portion of the state's education dollars. I would contend that education in our state would receive a much needed boost if all this was eliminated and the money given to the schools where it would be much more effective

My sister is also an Arkansas Teacher and I teach in Missouri. I agree with you. Once they are out of the classroom, they have no clue what it is like. It's the same way with college professors who come to evaluate their students who are doing internships with us classroom teachers. They think we can just adjust our schedules so that the college students can do what they want to at the professors convenience. Legislators seem to be out of touch also.
