I work in daycare with 2 year olds. I am looking for any ideas for our Christmas program. Our theme is snow/winter. My kids love the Chicken Dance and the Cha Cha Slide. Any ideas how I can incorporate the themes with the songs? Thanks

Something that may work for snowflakes would be to take large pieces of cardboard (maybe a refrigerator box), cut them into various snowflake shapes, paint them white and sprinkle with glitter. You can make two identical pieces, then use two pieces of string to connect them in order to hang them on the shoulders of the children. Dress the students in all white clothing.

Since they like the Chicken Dance, have kids in different shapes of snowflakes come out at each music change. You could also have them create words for the song.

Another idea...have the students write a snowflake story to act out.

You could always write opposite words on the fingers of left and right hand prints. Hang them upside down in the shape of a tree. Sing....Oh Christmas Tree.....How opposite are our branches.......Then make synonym snowmen. Kids could carry out the three balls each with a synonym while the crowd directs the fourth child with a hat to the matching synonyms.

Have them do one of the dances to a Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree.
