Hello everyone. I am looking for some tips or advice on how to get my foot in the door. I have a job interview for Kinder. tomorrow in a district that I am not exactly enthused about, not to mention that this is not the grade I really want to teach. I also have a possible interview coming for a literacy interventionist/tutor position in a district that I would love to teach in.
I have gone on several interviews and am not getting the job. I have one year of experience working with special education kids, but I was an education director and did not acquire any real classroom teaching experience.
My question and food for thought is... if both the kinder job and literacy job are offered to me, which is my better option. Again kinder is not in the district I want, but is experience and the literacy job is in the district I love and is also experience although not ideal. Are both a good way to get my foot in the door. Is the kinder job a better prospect? Does it matter?
I am frustrated and my ultimate goal is basically to take what I can get to get my foot in the door for a full time teaching position next year. I am beginning to get discouraged and want to give up.
Will somebody please help with some tips on getting into a district or gaining experience to land a full time elementary teaching position? Any feedback will help!!!!!
Thank you!!!!!!
