I live in Indiana and am trying to find out if the University of Scranton - online is a good place to work on my master's in curriculum and instruction. I am licensed under rules 46-47 in EL. Ed. I live in a very rural area and going to the instate colleges involves a great deal of traveling (often 4 to 6 hours to take 1 class). The U of C is supposed to be NCATE accredited. I am trying to find out if the master in curriculum and instruction can be attached to my EL. Ed license. I would really like to get certified in special ed. Also I just sub - so I do not have a permanent classroom - does U of S require you to do lessons with your own students? - the school system here will not allow subs to do things like that. Considering the lack of teaching jobs in the midwest - maybe I should get a master's in some other area and leave teaching?
